Before we get into your work, can you just tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am a 43 years old mustached and tattooed cliché living in the countryside in the east of France, listening to jazz and drinking filter coffee when I am not reading or drawing.
We are curious about your past and your style. When did you get started with art, what are your preferred topics and how would you describe your style?
I have always been drawing (another cliché). After art school I began as a graphic designer and a photographer before getting back to drawing during the past 4 years. It is difficult to speak about style, but I can say that the more I draw, the more I like it rough. I prefer the Quentin Blake's side to Ingres' one.
To be part of our project, we asked each artist to address certain issues in their designs that we should all think about more often. Can you briefly explain what your designs are about and what message you want to convey with your designs for maezen?
I see my design as a little fable made to think about our everyday choices, from the more common to the most important. It is about living each second as if we had to relive it forever. I know it is impossible, but the more we become aware of it, better our lives can be.
Last question, is there one thing which is important to you that you would like to share with our community?
For me it is drawing, for you probably a lot of other things. Don’t wait to do what you really want to. Regrets are worse than mistakes, it is sometimes better to throw the stone, even if it hurts.
